A Decade of Teamwork and Impact — TPG Named Partner of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas
Earlier this month, The Peacock Group was honored to be named Partner of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas (BBBSCA) at its annual Big Luncheon. The recognition marks a meaningful milestone in a more than decade-long partnership rooted in community, mentorship and shared vision.
What began as a friendly challenge between the Arkansas House and Senate has grown into a celebrated annual tradition and a powerful force for good. Hoops for Kids’ Sake, the charity basketball tournament benefiting BBBSCA and the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas, has raised more than $250,000 since its founding in 2013.
TPG Principal Denver Peacock has been involved with Hoops for Kids’ Sake since its inception. When he agreed to establish the event and run logistics and media outreach for its first iteration, it was on one condition: that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas serve as the tournament’s primary beneficiary.
As a board member of BBBSCA and a longtime mentor (Denver served as a Big for six years), the mission was deeply personal. BBBSCA aligned with the spirit of the event and had the infrastructure to help manage the funds, recruit volunteers and ensure a lasting impact.
From the early days at UALR to the now annual matchups at Little Rock Central High School, Hoops for Kids’ Sake has welcomed Governors, Globetrotters, Razorbacks and media personalities to the court. Former Governor Asa Hutchinson played nearly every year of his tenure, switching sides between chambers but remaining a constant supporter. Now under a 3-on-3 tournament format, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has coached the Governor’s Office team to back-to-back tournament wins. Razorback legends like Nolan Richardson, Sidney Moncrief, Joe Kleine, Scottie Thurman, Ronny Brewer and others have also lent their time to the cause, adding even more star power to the night.
Through it all, TPG has remained a steadfast behind-the-scenes partner, helping with event logistics, strategic messaging, media coverage and promotional support. In addition to helping generate tens of thousands of dollars annually for BBBSCA, our team has contributed more than $100,000 in in-kind time over the years, and secured extensive media coverage to elevate the tournament’s mission and momentum.
Every year, our team looks forward to the moment the lights come on, the jerseys go on and the community rallies for Arkansas kids. And every year, we’re reminded of the power of partnership, purpose and play.
To be named BBBSCA’s Partner of the Year is an honor we hold with deep gratitude, and it represents an ongoing commitment to an incredible organization and the lives it changes.
